Jerry is the owner of Konter Quality Homes in Savannah, Georgia. He has been an active member of the Home Builders Association of Savannah since 1977. He served as President in 1998 and as an active member he helped to successfully led negotiations in reducing the cost of Chatham County Building Permits by providing that Chatham County was in violation of State Law by charging a regulatory fee that exceeded the direct cost of implementing the regulatory process.
He was recently involved in modifying the local flood hazzard ordinance to more closely resemble that of FEMA’s Model ordinance by allowing some level of fill to be placed in a flood hazzard area.
At the Home Builders Association of Georgia he served as President in 1998. Jerry served on a Task Force with the Southern Company to negotiate a reasonable and dependable underground service fee structure for new developments serviced by Georgia Power Company.
He has testified before the GORK Committee of the State House of Representatives representing HBAG’s position regarding State Builders Licensure.
Jerry has been an extremely active member at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) since 1989, serving on numerous committees including as the National Area Chairman for Area 4 which is an Executive Committee position
He is married to Marcy and they have two children Mark Konter who is involved in Konter Quality Homes and Tess Konter Nemdeck of New York.
